How learning English by reading works
Pick a book at your level, read a free sample, and select any word for a translation without leaving the page.
Pick a level, then a book
Every book in the library is graded A2 to C2. Start with the level you read at now, not the one you want. You can also browse by genre.
Read a free sample first
Every book opens with a free sample, no account needed. If the book isn't for you, close it and pick another one.
Select a word you don't know
Select a word or a phrase and the translation appears beside it. The page stays where it is, and the tooltip never covers the words you picked. There are 36 languages in the Translate to picker.
Ask for an explanation instead
Some phrases don't survive a translation. Press Explain, under the translation, and the phrase is explained in plain words.
Listen while you read
Narration reads the chapter aloud and highlights each word as it speaks it, scrolling to follow. Stop mid-sentence to translate a word and it picks up from the same spot. You can seek, rewind and change the speed, and pick the voice and accent.
Find your place again
The navigator holds chapters, pages, your bookmarks and the words you saved. Search finds any phrase in the book. Change the font size, switch between day and night, or read two pages side by side.
See the count go up
Reading is credited page by page. You get a streak day count, XP, achievements, and a weekly league of 30 readers. Open the book on another device and it resumes where you stopped.
Then decide
A subscription opens the whole library. Cancel any time. An add-on covers your own EPUB and FB2 uploads and the AI reading assistant in a book — it is an AI, so it can be wrong.
